Wouldn't be that hard to go undetected... Hell how many times have companies been infiltrated and only found out when customer data was sold later on. Unless someone is actively looking at log files and for external access it'd go on forever. More than likely was a administrative access and no one gavd itna second thought...

couldn't get a gig at Google, with all their perks and pay and stock grants, but decides to cash in anyway. same place all that Biden money comes from. deep in the basement of Moscow and Beijing. if they can shovel 10M to that idiot Hunter, they can easily send a few bucks toward Carl in IT.

So the software watching for hacks was hacked it seems... Non sure why but that shit funny right there. Kinda like the 2 ft thick vault door with drywall walls around it.
