Divorce... It is official
As of this morning, about 10 minutes ago, I am legally UN-married.
 Became a couple - October 28th 1995. 22 years with the same person in my life. My best friend.  Time to pull up the big-boy pants and move on with life. It's going to be really tough. |

It will get better, think positive, you're starting a new life now. Lots of folks stay stuck in that situation for the sake of........pick a subject. And the same lots of folks don't get that opportunity to start over.

Don't pursue anyone just because you want companionship, you will end up in the same situation you are in now. It gets easier man, get out there and spend time finding the things YOU enjoy the most. Once you find what makes YOU happy, you will notice that there might be someone else that you see doing the same things.
That's when the door opens Happiness is internal - no one else can create that for you nor can you create that for someone else. |

A few things...
You are correct...she WAS my best friend. Is no longer. I had a few friends over a couple weeks back and it was the BEST medicine I could ever have taken. The subject came up, but it was not sad. It was just conversation. My new distraction will be my 1974 Charger. I bought the car in high school in 1978 and I am going to dive in to it and I'm hell bent on getting it back on the road. A lot of work and unfortunately $$$ too, but I'll do it in bite sized pieces. I'm seriously too old to be sleeping around and too ugly to pick up anyone that I'd be attracted too  so I don't have to worry about a bad "rebound" relationship. I need to get my finances in line with the limited years I have left to work (probably 10-12 before I get taken out with the trash). I need to focus on my mom and dad while they are still alive. All that being said, it sucks not having a special someone to share with. There is no denying that. EDIT: As for a mega-merge / sticky, I am not going to dwell in this space. I'm hoping this will be the final thread regarding my drama mama. She's legally, officially, physically, emotionally GONE. Threads in my future will be about other stuff going on. |
