And no, i'm not a famous enough rock star so my chances of surviving each flight have gone up exponentially.

The goal is to get a license to fly rotary

You have no idea how many times I've crashed landing on a carrier.

*controlled crash landed if not in the simulator. Uncontrolled if you took a Rustang to Cars and Coffee.

I'm going for private pilot license only because I can only pass the Class-3 physical. I can't believe there were 10 pages, double columns in the FAA flight handbook dedicated to the subject of carb and throttle body icing.

I had to get qualified for low power and high power turns in the E2C and the P-3. I tried landing the E2 on the carrier, never stuck that. Now landing on a normal runway wasn't too difficult in either aircraft. Well at least we would have survived them, not like my carrier landings. I have great respect for Navy carrier pilots. I've seen them do some amazing things.

Man, I've had to re-read this section on Altimeter settings a couple of times. Math wasn't my strong suit unless working in binary.

I've done about 10 practice questions before taking my quiz and got them all correct after reading through the section a few times. Seems like it will get easier with more practice.
