so maybe Sunday AM or so we can have the short block out and flip it over to see WTF is with the underside.....Thing is engine ran fine/smooth without any coolent for maybe 30 seconds in the garage.....my friend thinks to get that intake checked out.....for cracks as it's a custom intake....but no way in HELL water gets into any oil passage/air fuel even.....
They'll do the heads in house if they aren't cracked and they aren't backed up with work. I think you either had the wrong gasket, something was wrong with your intake, or both.

I've always used distilled water from the store for about 50 cents a gallon. Never pay for the premix stuff from auto parts store...they are CHARGING you for buying water and a little coolant. Get the full strength stuff and mix 50/50 with distilled water.

There is a lot of chemistry between different metals.

Each mfg. has their own recommended coolant for most cars due to the mix of metals, plastics, rubber used in the engine and cooling systems.

Ford, MB has some type gold coolant. I've heard to stay away from GM Dex-Cool.

Sounds like you had the wrong cooling holes blocked or not blocked.

Take some pics of the engine pull. Just drop a crate motor in it and be done.
