I was in the Cub Scouts for two years until our Den Mother bailed. I think we should have something like Cub Scouts right under our name if we served in the Cub Scouts. If you think we should put all of our badges we earned right below Cub Scouts i would be opened to it. Many a great men have come from the Cub Scouts.

I was in Girl Scouts. I had lots of badges.

I think my last year was 6th grade. Sold lots of cookies during that time, though.

Due to sexual abuse suits, the Boy Scouts of America national group in Bethesda Md, right next to NIH.....large stone headquarters been there since forever....so they filed for bankruptcy......My son was in one of the scout troops, and even my daughter.....used one of my cars to teach the gals how to change oil and filter and change a tire and show them how a car works.....they spent about 5-6 hours each group/day.......

I was Cubmaster for my son's Pack for a few years. It was actually a lot of fun. It's really Scouting for adults as the parents really do most of the work. The kids are there but it's like herding cats. Camping is really "car camping" for one night. I can't remember how many Pinewood Derby cars I helped build. Everyone still has fun though.

Once you move into Boy Scouts (and if you're lucky enough to be in a boy run Troop), that's where you really start to learn stuff. It's a shame what has become of Boy Scouts now.

My brother was a year older, so he joined, and after a year, said he didn't like it. Because of that, my parents wouldn't let me join, and my dreams of joining that richly respected group of former cub scouts were crushed like a bug.
