Update: Lost the battle with the original dated radiator.....Had it repaired once at the local good guy but it didn't hold up and started leaking on the seams and the top tank blew a couple more holes....Verdict was that it can't be fixed but I'm not tossing it out (if I can locate a new top tank, my guy can rebuild it).

So, I found a direct replacement from Rock Auto (350.00) it arrived yesterday. I'm going to give it a light coat of high heat black paint so it doesn't jump out of the original looking engine bay.

Just few more items to fix.....the speedometer works but not the odometer? The gas gauge, no workie. And the overhead cabin light needs a bulb and new plastic cover. Also, the tailgates latches were rusted with a broken rod, this I need to replace.

The list is getting smaller!

The odometer is probably seized. The plastic numbers are separated by thin steel plates, which corrode and seize onto the plastic. There are you tube videos on how to repair. Don't entirely disassemble, just separate, clean and use a lubricant made especially for plastic parts.

Then you'll have to replace the drive gears at the odometer.

Right-O!

The odometer and gas gauges are both not working….

On my list….. Carry a gas can and funnel in the bed just in case. And I do like to see how many miles I can put on the truck…..

Gas gauge is probably the sender. It's a simple variable resistor so easy to test.

Gas, temp and oil pressure all work off the same 6 volt system using a constant voltage regulator. So if one works, the cvr is also working.

The pickup and sender are one unit, cheap and easy to replace. You probably won't need to drop the tank.

That truck is going to age like a President unless you get it inside. Old cars stored outside 'go away'----especially in your neck of the woods. But you don't GAF, so whatever.

Well most Presidents live into their 90’s with the best medical care…..

Killin me actually… just no room inside at the moment…. There’s always a car stored up on the lift. 3 VETTE’s, 2 daily drivers and a few dumpers full of tools and hardware, eat up the 1500 sq ft. Heck my garage is bigger than the house first floor footage….

I poured a 14’x32 slab next to the garage that is just asking for a roof to be framed over it!
