Default Picked up a couple of model planes for the man cave

Picked them up on Kijjiji. The bi plane measure 42" long with a wing span of 52". The other one is 36" long with a wing span of 48". I am not really sure what they are or year they might be, but if anyone might know what they represent, if anything, it would be nice to know.

This is the lamp I also got for the man cave

Are those RC planes or just static models?

The Biplane is a Tiger Moth... you can tell by the leaf shape of the vertical stabilizer on the tail, and the raised center section of the top wing... both Tiger Moth hallmarks.

The planes are just wall hangers ( well ceiling hangers.... ) they do not fly, unless you just through them across the room to see them crash.........

If the bi-plane is a Tiger Moth, what year would it be about and does anyone know what the other plane is.

Rob, I have been keeping my eyes open for one of those hats in good condition and at a fair price.

Those definitely look RC to me, because it looks like there is a servo attachment to the rudder on both of the models. Also, the second one looks to be of balsa construction? (you can see the fuselage ribbing underneath the paper covering)

They appear to both have all the wiring and wires attached to wings and tails, that would have been ready for R/C control. They just did not have any engines. They are both balsa with cloth wrap and have a few plastic parts as well. When I got them the owner had about 20 to sell, by the time my son and I got there, most had already been sold. So we both picked up a couple each. They had been built by his father years ago, who is now 94 and and he was selling them for his father.

I would still like to know if the second plane is of any specific type and maybe what year both would have been.

I'm about 98% sure that is a Sig Spacewalker. It was a popular sport model in the 70's and 80's.
