Default Time for a new roof

Luckily 60 mile an hour winds did enough damage that insurance is covering it!

NotSlo, son just did his. Roof company from Fla., 1,250 miles away. Filed claims, worked all ins items for him. Sounded great until work done. 3 day jobs took 2 week with three different crew and couldn’t even match previous crews work. Shit job.

3 months later still looking for satisfaction before he signs over check....

Lessons learned; use local roof company, w same crews (not gypsy subs) for roof

You won the roof lottery. It cost me $6000 three years ago. Roofer said old roof wasn’t done properly at the vents. The crew carried all materials up ladders on a two story house.

Surely I have posted this before, but just got dun with my roof, battling Peoples Distruct Ins. co. for some 3.5 years from Irma yet.....they could have settled for maybe 6 grand back then, but NO they paid 11.7k in lawyer fees to MY law firm...plus 15k to ME, who managed to get the roof done for a bit less.....talk about a PITA.....all the paint and patch work.....

I noted the paints are now done with sprayers....white that won't turn black/mildew/etc......I was rollering it on....PITA.....

How much is your deductible? Ours is about $6,800 - which we don’t have.

1500, but will not be paying that much according to the roofer. Some magic with the numbers I am guessing

The 3 man crew that did mine after Hurricane Ike had a conveyor belt set up, run by a small engine, that sent the shingles up. So, one person on the ground loading, and one on the roof, offloading. After seeing that, I don't see why anyone in the roofing business wouldn't use something similar.

That's the way I've always seen it done. Mine was a small job so I guess they didn't see a need when you have strong backs. When I used to do my own roofs I always had the delivery company deliver roof top.

YUP they ALL have that setup down here, but I suspect the shingle supply houses have that as part of their delivery......
