Okay, you smart guys: Edumacate on this...
This is a short clip by Ronal Reagaan and Mitch McConnell. I'm not sure what McConnell is saying, but I'm more confused about what Regan says: He says that Social Security spending has nothing to do with the National Debt because any savings in Social Security spending would go back to the Social Security Trust Fund.
But I thought that the "Trust Fund" is a mirage because Congress spends the money and gives Social Security an IOU, and anything that Congress spends adds to the National Debt and therefore the deficet. BTW, McConnell refers to Social Security as an "entitlement, along with Medicare and Medicaid, with which I vehemently disagree: Social Securuty is funder by our tax dollars, and it's a "bought and paid for" program by we taxpayers. |

S.S. and Med. are not only entitlements, they are the biggest Ponzi scheme in history.
The very first recipients of both S.S. and Medicare paid nothing for their 'benefits,' the very definition of an entitlement. Since then the Ponzi scheme is using the taxes collected from working people to pay for those collecting benefits, which stayed afloat OK, as long as there were a bunch of workers paying for every retired person collecting. Demographics change, people live longer, and now there aren't enough people getting taxed to pay for everything paid out. Making matters worse is the absolute Marxism involved in both, but especially in Medicare, from each, according to his abilities, to each, according to his needs. A guy who worked 40 quarters at a minimum wage job gets the same health care benefit as someone who maxed out his Medicare Taxes for 50 years. That's Marxism, combined with a Ponzi scheme, all wrapped up in an entitlement. It's basically everything anathema to what America stands for. |
