I just bought back Amazon at 1695 - sold it about 6 weeks ago for 2000. Got 25 s - so let's see if I turn out to be smart or an idiot. I suppose it depends on how long I wait ...

Kind of funny how the S&P is down 42 points and waffling right around the 2767 mark, (last week's close).
It is amazing to me how that is such an important indicator.

Commercials are long by a margin of about 3:1. nothing to worry about there.

So let's all look at this long term chart of the S&P500 for a minute.



We went from 600 to almost 3000 in 9 years- in an almost unbroken line. I'd defy anyone to say they did better trading this thing frequently than just sitting in "buy and hold" mode. Now we have a pullback- shocker. Nothing goes straight up or down. I've been asked if I'm up or down for the year- this year. Who the hell cares- we rode this pony out since the crash. At the time it was scary, now it's up 500% from the low. Just have to adjust your timeline.

I'm up 6% as of yesterday.
Two days ago I was up 13%.
I knew I should have bailed when I was up 20% and the market looked a bit long in the tooth.
Meh. It'll go back up

I guess you know you've finally got your asset allocation right when:

-Market volatility is nuts
-The Indeces are undergoing wild swings with a downward trend
-You listen to (and believe) permabears like Schiff and Yusko
-You have a natural urge anyway to make changes to your portfolio
-You do nothing
