@C3C7NIC

Are the deceased still able to transmit the disease? Are their bodies contagious?

Saw that on the news. How many years will it take the damn FDA to approve it or any other new drug or vaccine?

Good question. Would assume that since virus resides in the respiratory, ba confirmed GI tract, precautions should be taken.

Skimmed over an article about that very thing, but since I don’t deal with funeral science issues, I didn’t take the time to read.

Here's an interesting theory I read today.

COVID-19 patients die of pneumonia, right? Or do they actually? Are they dying of low oxygen levels and organ failure associated with that instead? Here's why that's plausible.

1. The virus binds with proteins in hemoglobin. This has the effect of releasing the iron ions present in that molecule, which is in our red blood cells of course.

2. In "normal" pneumonia it's typical for one lung to be more heavily infected/damaged than the other. This makes sense in traditional disease vectors that cause the disease. But COVID-19 patients who develop pneumonia have both lungs equally involved every time. The damage is more or less the same severity in each lung.

3. What could cause this? Well, free iron ions would end up in the lungs aveoli, those tiny sacs in the lungs that allow hemoglobin molecules to pick up oxygen. Or in other places but since the virus is in the lungs, that's where the iron is likely to end up. And it's highly reactive and oxidizes almost immediately, a tiny particle of rust in the lungs.

4. This sort of thing happens normally to everyone but on a much smaller scale. The body is able to deal with it. But with severe cases of COVID-19, the lungs get basically clogged up with rust. This is also associated with lower oxygen levels, causing the person to struggle to catch their breath. Putting them on a ventilator doesn't really fix this, and may make matters worse. You could put 100 healthy people on vents for 10 days and some would die. This isn't hard to figure out, forcing the lungs to expand again and again, the intrusive nature of the intra-tracheal tubes, and other complications could cause even a perfectly healthy person to die under such circumstances.

5. Now we look at this in conjunction with HCQ, not the fish tank cleaner, the real malaria drug. Malaria is a parasite that damages hemoglobin, causing the low oxygen situation similar to COVID-19. It works by inferring with the mechanism this parasite uses to bind with the protein cage that holds the iron ions vital to oxygen carrying capacity and poisonous to the body when freed. It interferes with the COVID-19 virus via a similar mechanism, keeping the hemoglobin's iron ions in their cages and still effective at carrying oxygen.

6. Adding some sort of strong antibiotic to HCQ helps the body deal with secondary infections that are part and parcel of serious lung congestion. But even on it's own it allows the hemoglobin to stay intact long enough for the patient's immune system to fight off the virus, stopping low-oxygen-induced organ failure which further weakens the immune system.

So they are essentially treating the wrong disease when they slam you on a ventilator. They should be giving you whole blood, not just plasma, and they should be at least giving you lots of oxygen. And HCQ, some compatible antibiotic, and zinc sulfate too because why not?

This sounds quite plausible, but I'm not a doctor.

Cyber, this seems consistent with the evidence that ACE inhibitors seem to put patients in worse shape.
