Exactly. Some percentage of the Coronavirus deaths are folks who probably would have died of something else in the next 6-18 months if they hadn't gotten the virus. This is one of the main reasons why there are tens of thousands of deaths from seasonal flu in the US every year.

Unless a medical provider has risk factors and is working front line, I agree.

So if my brother were a hospitalist and was say 65 and had hypertension and diabetes. Yes, I would recommend that they take it prophylactically under those circumstances.

It’s not the best time to be exposed, it’s about when is the medical facility near you least likely to be overloaded and most able to efficiently care for you.
