Now to the good stuff...2 coats of clear! We'll clean up the trash in the paint, that's easy finish work. Man...she looks AMAZING! The other pieces will get done after X-mas. This thing is going to look awesome.

Cleaned up the trash in the paint today and hit it with more clear. It's nearly perfect. One small area will need touch up, but you can't see it in the pics. We also got the grilles scuffed and shot as well as the finishing pieces. Going to begin work on the splitter, and getting the bumper support finished up this week. We do need to let the clear harden for a day (preferably two). I honestly think we could be done by the end of next week. We still have to figure out those end plates (strakes)...those are NOT an easy problem to solve. Thanks for sticking around this long.

Only setbacks. When putting it together, we broke some shit. We're repairing the broke shit, but it's going to take some time. I felt sick to my stomach when it happened.

I didn't want to post this, but who cares I suppose. Here's where we damaged it during assembly. Those side cover plates were so effing tight that they wouldn't seat. When using heat and trying to manipulate them into place, they either destroyed the paint, or broke (like the right side did, not pictured). For actual progress though, we smoked the side markers (you can see how I tinted them before, and now they're smoked) so those are coming out super nice. I made the decision to remove the tabs and physically bond them to the correct position, hence the jig apparatus it's sitting in. Glue was needed because the small leg (on the top) was just not fitting. There was a bend that wouldn't go away regardless of what we tried. Infuriating that these two little parts are causing such issues. So lets just say progress has come to a near dead stop until we can get these fuggers bonded and then repaint the bumper...again.

Finally putting in forward progress. Last 3 pics, we've begun final assembly. Still not out of the woods yet. Have some more paint on the splitter to do (hopefully tomorrow) followed by another clear coat. We still have to figure out what to do about the end strakes. I might just leave them off since they are such a PITA. Not sure that making them fit would look "right" on the C6.
