I have 2 bulbs out on mine and I got to fix it to pass inspection. I was told I have to replace the hole thing is that true? Where is the best place to get one quick? How hard is it to replace?

What I was told when I converted my 85 C4 to the 96 Body was that if there is an external signal light on the car of any kind, it had to work in order to pass inspection.

When is your inspection due? I would check out ebay and some other sights and just go ahead and replace your tail lights with LEDs

Shipping is a little high, and there were many others...I just went with these cause they were black and I know you were talking about going with a black/white theme

It is a one piece deal and it's easy to replace, just take of the license plate/reverse light thingy and there is some holes behind it where you can gain access to the 2 nuts holding it on. I have no idea where you could get one short notice.

I doubt you have to replace the whole thing. I haven't worked on a C5 but I image you would remove the tail lights to be able reach in and remove the third light to replace the bulbs. On mine, its in the spoiler and I have to remove it through the tail lights to access the third light. Shouldn't be a hard job as long as you are a little flexible.

It's a one piece light with leds inside so it has to be replaced unless you crack it open and solder in some new leds or something.

Thanks everyone for the input, I seen the LED's on ebay thats the cheapest I've seen I hope its not junk. The dealer told me $168 so I'm thinking about the ebay ones.

So far so good, the fit was good and works fine so far. I ended up getting the same one Joe posted a link to.
