so Mrs. DAB thinks i should get a 725 gallon tank/trailer combo, to replace the little 285 gallon tank that i have to muscle up into the bed of the truck. so i found a place that sells these.

do the online chat with their rep. and i have a basic question: how much does it cost. back and forth we go, still not getting what i'm asking for.

he finally begs off that he's just an internet rep, and that the company will have to contact me later to give me that info.

fine, i'll call them directly later.

every specification listed online, but they won't give you the cost. how am I supposed to know if i have saved enough to buy this if you don't let me know how much it's going to cost?

Unless that company is the only outfit producing what you want I would tell them to stick their trailer where the sun don't shine and find a manufacturer who will give a solid price over the phone plus a firm delivery (or pick up) date. l work in retail and EVERY customer is a potential sale. Everyone gets my full and undivided attention and I give details as requested. Any company representative with customer contact should be able to price the product they represent. You probably need more quality in the product than that seller can provide.

725 gallons of water weighs 6050 pounds. Would a "slip in" tank on a trailer work? That would give you a trailer to use if needed plus the ability to get water.

Ask about the brake system ( type and manufacturer ) too. It will need maintenance at some point in time and a name brand component will be less expensive to maintain.

This is a standard size for a water tank. Several companies make tank/trailer combos, and the gross weight is 9995. Just under the 10k tow limit for my truck.
