I wondered what happened, just saw injuries on news. Not aroud me either.


Foot nice and swollen up todayfrom stings, stupid bees. Last time I was stung was a huge wasp and right on kneecap, took weeks for it to stop swelling up randomly
Doesn't hurt but a bit now but can't get a shoe on and lace it up so another day of bed rest. Worked in barn for an hr and had enough, too bad as the weather is nice again today.

Off to binge watch something on the idiot box.

Are you sure you're not allergic to them? I've been stung but have never had the constant pain and swelling for days.

Usually they just swell up some and goes away after a day and hurts for a few hrs. The stings on face already have gone 95% away.
Good possibility I'm a wee bit allergic to them but never have been, maybe the type of bee was an issue this time. I was stung by paper wasp earlier this year on shoulder and no issues at all(besides it hurt). Haven't been stung by a hornet or yellow jacket in a long time but remember they did swell up(been decades).

I have also heard it is possible to develop an allergy to them after so many times of being stung.

My grandfather wasn't allergic to them until he got older. He had been stung before with no serious affects but the last time he had to be rushed to the hospital cause his airway swelled up.

You are definitely having an allergic reaction to the venom. I am deathly allergic to hypmenoptera species (most wasps/Yellowjackets) but have no reaction to honey bee or bumble bee stings.

May be prudent to see your doc and get a steroid shot (decadron/depedrol) and the swelling will go down within a few hours. May be a good idea to have them RX you an epinephrine pen. If you get stung again this year the reaction may be cumulative and be worse.

Quite a bit better today thanks. Swelling gone down by half I'd say. Probably another day and I'll be close to normal(well normal for me that is).
Put my shoes on without any discomfort and worked for couple hrs.

Glad to hear your back is feeling better. Hope it stays that way.
