Default Alternator help

I replaced the alternator on my 2002 Chevy Silverado Z71 5.3 1500 p/u. Now my lights (exterior and interior) flicker or surge at idle. Everything looks to be in order. I replaced it with a 105 amp alternator which should be correct. Any ideas?

Higher output alt. No joke. They do it slightly from the factory and if you have the electronics package it is worse. I would go 120 amp. I think it may be a 120 stock actually.

Check the tightness/cleanliness of the battery terminals, and have the battery tested too.

The positive terminal on my 04 Silverado loves to gradually work it's way slightly loose about twice a year, and the dash lights flickering is always my first clue it's happened again.
It never "seems" loose, never not starts, and usually only takes ~1/4 turn to make it fully tight again, but each time I've retightened it has 100% eliminated the dimming dash lights issue.

Never once had this problem with the side battery connections loosening on the Vette, but it's gotten me about 5 times on the truck over the years.

I think they don't even make any power at low Idle. I would put a volt meter on it to see where it starts to charge.
