Default A few new pics.

I think there's maybe three people that visit here but here's some new shots.

14 year old Boji. Sweetest soul you'll ever meet and mother to two of my Dals.

Good day for the bird, bad day for the thing in it's clutches.

Spread 'em!

Bald eagle is wearing a tag too.
Awesome pics.

Might not want to show it to Wendy though.

Keep posting these up! Excellent as usual.

What lens did you use on the shot of the Boji? Love the shallow DOF.

The Boji shot was using the Canon 100-400 II.
200mm
ISO 100
1/250 sec at F / 5.0.

Natural light next to a corn field.

Do you find it's easier to get some shots using a long zoom instead of a wide angle when it's normally a shot you would take with a wide angle?

This lens does one thing but it does it well; wildlife. It's field of view is only 2.6° horizontal so anywhere you'd be inclined to use a wide angle you'd never consider this as an alternative.

Wide angle's also have great depth of field. This thing is razor thin even stopped down to f/16.

It's a purpose lens, period. It's not a good all-arounder for a family picnic in the park where you'll want shots of the kids playing and an occasional wildlife shot.

I meant where you want to get close to the subject but you either have the wrong angle or can't get close.

Typically I won't carry every lens I have when I go out to cover every situation. If I'm shooting birds I bring the long lens and leave the wide angle at home.

Additional new shots from the weekend.
