I wasn't a huge fan when they first came out but they grew on me. Kind of like a mullet grew on the people that drove them.

I still have the one that I bought new in 1989. Just like the brochure car that year. 5.7/auto. Pics when it was new. I never drive it. Has about 60k on it and sits in the garage. One of my friends beats me up all the time about not driving it. It really was a tight, fun driving car. I have all the original paperwork. I recorded a cassette (both sides) of Guns N Roses to listen to while driving it back from Atl.

Todays version of that would be closer to $48k than $18k.

I still remember watching the first episode of Knight Rider back in the fall of 1982. I owned a '67 Firebird 400 at the time, and in that first episode a couple of punks in a '67 Firebird try to steal KITT.

I have always liked them. A few of my friends had them in college. Both with the 305...my 94 V6 Camero was faster but they looked better.

I've watched a couple of them go through Mecum. I still think they are good looking cars, just can't get motivated enough to do anything with mine. It was my first new car and took awhile to find that color combo.

I went to a World of Wheels show not long after buying it and someone had a
1LE car there. i had no idea they existed. I needed a daily driver at the time. The 1LE was minus A/C which was a daily driver no deal.

I couldn't go that high, but it appears to be a beauty.

No it's not. Disc brake delete on an early 60's Corvette. At a car show a guy had a poster saying 'RARE Corvette, disc brake delete."
