Default No Sympathy, Just The Facts
6 weeks ago Saturday, a temporary set of 7 stairs went out from under me at my cousin's house that he is building.
Tomorrow, I get to go to the knee specialist.
I landed, straight legged on my right leg, hyper extended it, crushed it, and twisted the knee, all at the same time.
Twill be interesting to see what happens.
My daughter told me all of the right things to say so that we skip the X-ray and go right to the MRI. I actually have most of what she described.
The pain is blinding to the point where I sweat sometimes.
Tomorrow, we shall see...

I told my cousin that he's lucky he has a fishing boat, otherwise, I'd sue him.

Never would've thought that gummies would help with that kind of pain.
Good deal man

I get nasty migraines from time to time and keep a stash of painkillers from previous disaster but they lose efficacy in 3 mos.

Then all you've got is a pill that is magic for jacking up your stomach and keeping you from having a nice morning dump....

If you have the will power and correct mindset to use opioids only as prescribed, they work great for pain relief.

When they reconstructed my left knee and for both my shoulder surgeries I was prescribed Oxycodone. I used them for the two weeks they were prescribed and then was done with them. ( tapered off towards the end of the two weeks)

Knees.......Seems like a lot of older folks I know are having knee problems, whether injured from falls, or just old age, and are very debilitating.

Well here is the dealio....

My osteo-arthritis has progressed to the point to where there is bone on bone lovin' goin' on in my knee.
That being said, my meniscus is most likely shredded, probably a #2, so the doc said that he can go in and fix that and clean the joint up, but I will still have the osteo-arthritis pain.
Recommendation, and I knew this was coming, a total knee replacement.
While in there doing that, anything that is jagged gets filed down and any tears will be repaired or replaced.
I'm gonna do it.
At 54 years old, I have great health insurance, am still relatively young, and will heal and recover really well.
My only reservations are, how long it will last, and my inability to kneel ever again.
I think the benefits outweigh the negatives, so I'm in.
Dude didn't even offer me any pain meds
Ibuprophin and alcohol it is then....
Gettin' old apparently sucks.
