I'm always impressed with what I see on Forged in Fire and although I cannot do it what I'd like to see is all traditional way to make a blade or sword. Meaning no power tools what so ever. No power hammer, no grinders etc. Just the Smith his hammer and an anvil.
Lets see your end product!!!! |

I was reading about Damascus steel once, and the writer seemed to think that it is not as strong as a modern steel. I don’t know if the Japanese sword steel qualifies as a type of Damascus. But, I always thought it was amazing stuff when made into a sword by their ancient process. So, is Damascus steel more for decorative purposes, or is it tougher than a modern steel.

+1 for the videos Blade. I would watch them all day long! Regardless if you are folding or just stomping, those hammers are the bomb!

Thanks, Blademaker! Some time ago I decided I wanted an authentic Kukri. After some research, I came up with Kailash Blades. This little place in Nepal is a few guys handcrafting their blades from old leaf springs, I think using a charcoal forge. The place is a shack with a dirt floor, and rudimentary tools. I loved it! Idk how tough these blades are, but they are authentic, if nothing else.
