Sorry. I lost a good friend that I worked with a few months ago. We had the same interest and I always thought we would have time to do more things together...he died at just 61 after a quick illness of only a few months.

Sorry to hear, man. I've lost two best friends, each of whom I had known over twenty years. One was pancreatic cancer. We knew he was going for a while. Talked to him the night before he passed. The other was a cerebral hemorrhage. Gone in minutes. Both sucked.
Again, sorry to hear. Keep the memories.

You know, I feel kind of lost without him. Obviously, I have my family, but they are just as heartbroken as me. I know we are just passing through this life, but losing a friend like him has been tougher on me than losing some family members. I don't have any siblings, so he was the closest thing I ever had to a brother. Knowing you will never see someone you love dearly, has knocked me for a loop.

My friend Danny (cancer) has been gone eight years in July. Rick will be eleven in June. Still think of them every couple of days for one reason or another.
Danny paid me one of the highest compliments once I have ever received from anyone without meaning to. He was a big hearted guy, willing to help anyone. One day towards the end he said, "You know, you are the only friend I ever had that never took advantage of me." Only reply I could think of was, "That's not what friends do."
Again, sorry, man. I know your pain.

I know I've told you this before, but I always think about your Grandson in the avatar picture, and the things he would be doing at his age now. In the last 2 years, I've lost my Mom, two good friends, and now my best buddy. I think being in the military for so long has helped me with my coping skills, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. No one ever said it would be easy though. I am glad I have my VB friends to bounce things off of, because it really does help, and I know that all of you genuinely care.
