I think what he did warrants the death penalty due to the loss of 6 personnel directly while searching for him. I do not think he will get it though. I keep hearing lefties talk about how the "poor boy" didn't know what he was doing, he's so young. BULLSHIT. You get the UCMJ beat into your head all through Basic Training as well as the Laws of Armed Conflict and the punishments that are possible when violating ANY of them. He absolutely knew what he was doing was against the law and made a CONSCIOUS decision to walk off the base. F--K Bergdahl, he deserves the disdain he receives from fellow service members and ANY punishment he receives will be too little.

The guy laid down his weapon and walked off the FOB. Desertion is the least he should get.
