Default (R-CA) Rep. John Campbell ~ $ 2.5 Trillion Spending Cut Plan

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) today released a plan that supposedly outlines $ 2.5 trillion in spending cuts over ten years.

Today

South Capitol Street Up?Because

But as The Wonk Room pointed out, only $ 330 billion of the $ 2.5 trillion is specified, while the rest is simply hand-waving about keeping non-defense discretionary spending at the 2006 level for a decade.

As TPM’s Brian Buetler put it, “In other words, it punts the question of what to cut to future Congresses, which could just as easily bust the cap.”

Today, Rep. John Campbell (R-CA), an RSC member, appeared on Fox News with Neil Cavuto, and Cavuto also evidently noticed that the vast bulk of the RSC’s savings come from unspecified cuts.

Here's when Cavuto asked Campbell to explain how the RSC magically turned $ 330 billion into $ 2.5 trillion ....

*We have to grow the economy with unemployment ...* ...

Not enough. We need about half that EVERY SINGLE YEAR. 2.5 Trillion, IF achieved, would only be $250 Billion a year. CHUMP CHANGE.

Not Enough Congressional Republicans. If you want to tackle a radical budget crisis, you're gonna need radical solutions which involve radical cuts.

Yes, people will whine over their favorite entitlements, handouts, pet projects, etc.

TOO BAD. People are going to have to deal with it.

Not enough.

In tiny fine print he stated *we have to grow the economy to create revenues* as part of the RSC slashing spending plan ... I'd rather listen to (R)'s calling for Obama's repeal so that all can be well than listen to this babbling fool ...

The Left got all happy when BHO asked his staff to cut 100 million in new growth yet the proposed cuts by pubs is wrong and just politics.

Within the next few years it will no longer be a question of 'Should we cut entailment programs" to "How much do we have to cut to stay solvent"

And the longer we wait the more people will get hurt. The good thing is most of those that voted for BHO and his progressives will get royally and truly F*&ked.

, It isn't rocket science. When did we cut enough? When we no longer have to ask China, Japan, and little old ladies to buy our debt.

Apparently, about 6 months before the '10 mid term election. Before that? MIA

Of course, the Libertarians, and the "Paulie" pubs have been in that game a lot longer. Just sayin'.

After the tea party kicked them in the ass. The Conservatives in this country hold our people accountable for their actions. Unlike the left with their Friends.

Where is the link and time to cut the budget to get us into the black and start paying down debt so my kids and grandkids will not suffer down the road, heck if I live to social security full retirement age I will see more suffering, but then seniors need to die as we know when you do not work you are no longer productive to society, I just hope this is not the case down the road, cut the red ink and spend only what is taken in and yes I am taxed enough already

Good. I hope all entitlement programs paid for by the federal government die a quick and sudden death.

They are an abomination of the American Constitution.

The problem is, is the logistical nightmare of converting to privitization ... that was Reagans *voodoo economics* ...

As an example, the first thing Reagan did was let all the mental patients out as part of his ridding America of *evil socialized healthcare* ... goes to all the Jared Loughners walking the streets ... so this goes to blame the Libs who are *tolerant and compassionate* so to keep them locked up in mental health facilities long wiped out by the GOP...

You are aware that Liberal Mental health activists were also instrumental in the process of pushing these people out the door and letting the rot on the streets?

And it will be a big problem to disengage from these programs. Both Poor and Rich will suffer and America will struggle for over a decade.

But if we don't we will collapse under the weight of these programs.
