I will keep telling this true story till the cows come home....

I was about 13 y/o around year 56-57, and so Dad was in the insurance business, he specialized in mass marketing, group insurance in other words, covering entire companies if large enough, lawyers, doctors, teachers, builders association, literally thousands of people around the DC region, he administered claims through his office, Nancy typed up the checks, put them on Dad's desk for signatures, many thousands of bux, he handled the billings ever month for premiums.....did the accounting and remitted to the companies involved....in fact his agency was large enough to almost become self insured at one point.....

BUT, back to the mid 50's....Dad came home one night and he was ROCKET pissed, not one shot but TWO from the bottle in the fridge....mom asked what was up, ME in the next room thought I"d had it and was going to get wacked, so turned down the volume on the TV.....

Dad kept saying 'I will not pay the bastard'....and the name of some senator on the hill that was recognized easy at the time....I forget the name....

anyway, that crook demanded a kickback on a group plan he submitted for the Dept of Interior....read National Parks, Smokey Bear....

Dad refused and the plan was not approved for enrollment.....

and so at age ~13 I found out just how this Nation's Capitol worked....

nothing happens until someone gets PAID, and that's the result of too many lawyers on K st NW....the revolving door they used to take their Rolodex's too, today it's on the cphone, or email.....
