I will be paying a lot less in premiums, but office visit copays increased from $15/$25 to $30/$40....then I get to pay 10% of treatment costs until I reach a yearly out of pocket of $1,500 before the insurance company will pay 100%

In other words it sounds like a Major Medical plan my father would have written for any decent size employer...nearly 50 years ago....

under a ALL inclusive group insurance plan....

Kid just got his own through work. He was kinda bummed about the $300/mo- but he has no clue what a deal that is. Medical/Dental/Vision, $10 co-pay, no deductables except for prescriptions.

So, some peeps still believe you get something for free? All this does is just shift the cost to someone else...like everything else in Obamacare. Now my health care premium rises in order to cover someone else who wouldn't/couldn't get his own insurance. Medical care costs are expensive, and they have to be paid by someone. Why the feck should I give a rat's ass about paying someone else's health care costs? Because it's the redistribution of wealth's "right" thing to do?

I work hard for my money--if you want some money, go to work yourself! Feckin' libs.

Did you bother to read the article? Their parents are now allowed to PAY for their kids insurance. Who the hell is getting something for free here? Most of these people didn't have insurance before. Now they do. If anything this means tax payers WILL BE PAYING LESS FOR THE UNINSURED than they did before.

I swear, so many of you are so eager to shit on Obama you can't see ANYTHING good in any of his efforts.

The single specific reason I voted for him is because I want socialized medicine. I said that many times before he was elected. In that regard he still hasn't lived up to my expectations. I won't be happy until we go to single payer and eliminate all the unnecessary money skimming insurance companies that artificially keep health care cost exorbitant and prevent people with pre existing conditions from getting insurance.

Socialize medicine sucks. In October while vacationing in Canada, my wife had balance problems (what ending up being an inner ear infection). We went to the local doctor office in Lansdowne ONT so she could get checked out.

They were appologetic that they couldn't see or treat her since she wasn't a "member" of their group. They did mention that we could go to the emergency room at the hospital in Kingston. That was close to a hour away.

We instead crossed back in the US and went to Watertown NY. Walked into an Urgent care facility and they checked her out immediately. We then went to the local hospital where she got a MRI immediately.

A socialized quota healthcare system may save money but at who's cost or well being?

Vast majority of Canadians are happy with their system.

Personally I prefer the system the French have.

America is not about making the vast majority happy. It's about having the ability to work to earn the best of the best for yourself.

If you have extra and are willing and able to help somebody else, more power to you.
