Default Almost hit an antelope the other day
On Colorado Rte. 86 just east of Denver. Two lane, posted speed 65, I was 3 seconds behind a Taco and 3 seconds ahead of an F150 behind. Two antelopes came at full gait from opposite directions, looking like they were going to meet in the middle of the road directly in front of me.

I stood on the brakes hoping the F150 was paying attention. Antelope on the right crossed the road and antelope left stopped and changed direction.

Weird shit going on here....

Not weird... I think mating season is just getting underway. Makes em a bit loopy.

Dumbass driver was going too fast but survived with a broken femur and some bruises.

Pronghorns, and pretty much all of the other horned/antlered animals mate in the fall. In CO, most stuff is still just grazing and killing off winter. Give it another month or so and they'll start their spring moves.

The pronghorns move across the plains (like where 86 is) all year to find food. They typically have "home", but definitely wander a lot. Their backstrap is some of the best game steak, along with elk, that you can find.

Just had a group of 12 mulies cruise through the yard this evening.
