Serious nutrition question here:

My wife said that she thinks I need more "fruit in my diet". I said "fine", and went out and bought a half gallon of butter pecan ice cream.

Despite the fact that butter AND cream are the "fruits of the dairy", AND the fact that pecans are totally a vegetable, she is pushing back on this.

Can anyone provide some good talking points to support my position? Any guidance is greatly appreciated here.

I don't have any idea what is wrong with you. But it is certainly more serious that what Koko is dealing with.

Wife went to take a shower, and I tried to feed some of the strawberries to the dog. Belle licked a few of them, but gave me that "I want butter pecan ice cream!" look, so I threw away the ones she licked, and got us each a bowl of the ice cream. Wife came out of the shower, noticed the bowl of strawberries was less full, and asked if I had had some? I said "Of course, they were great!" Then, she proceeded to squirt whipped cream on the remaining strawberries, and ate all of the rest of them herself!

I'm not entirely sure how to interpret the goings on here of the last half hour, but I got ice cream and the wife thinks I ate fruit, so I'm good.

I am still open to good suggestions for future tactics if any one has them. Thanks.

Watt are the odds?? yawl talking of my favorite two flavors.....Butter Pecan and Strawberry, I alternate between them even evening......and of all things, my CAT jumps up and demands lick the bowl clean of the Butter Pecan.....but won't touch the strawberry......go figger.....

Now IF you put a maraschino cherry on top.. it would have been a fruit enhanced dietary supplement to the dairy and nutty fiber food groups.

As long as you get your fill of the 2 major food groups at the bottom of the Food Pyramid, you're good.
1&2 - Hot & Greasy are foundations for a well balanced diet, everything else is like a sprig of parsley or cherry on top.
