Default we had an unexpected visitor at work today...
on a motorcycle.

I just walked outside to go get some lunch and noticed this guy pulled-over in the corner of our front parking lot. He was looking down at the engine, and there was some smoke.

Then in a flash he quickly jumps off the bike:















By the time the fire dept arrived, it was about over with.







Talked with the guy; he said the engine started missing and he pulled over to look at it. When he looked down - he said he saw flames coming from the carburator area... and booked !!!

Good thing he did. It burned fairly quick, and when the gas tank ignited, it was more of a flame-thrower - than an explosion.

He wasn't hurt; and said it was the second time he's had the bike out from winter storage.

I dont care what it is..if it has rubber fuel lines, and you put it up for winter regularly...I dont care if its a generator, cycle, mower, etc...check your goddamn fuel lines before putting it to work. My money is on, cracked fuel line...

Saw an old VW bug do the same thing. It was totally inflamed within a couple of minutes. I agree with Red. I also want to add -

DON'T USE THOSE FKIN PLASTIC FUEL FILTERS.

They are another perfect fire bomb waiting to happen.

in 10 years and probably...5000+ plastic filters, Ive never had one fail or leak..Ive had them melt because some idiot routed them over a muffler or something..but never had one fail.

It's amazing the vertical leap you can get when you kick your cycle over and flames come out around the tank. Happened to me on my '74 Kawasaki H1. Luckily water kept the flames down enough until we hit with a fire extinguisher. SAVED
