And she was taken into custody pending sentencing.....she doesn't get to continue her bail. Why anyone would want to be a cop these days is a mystery.

Tough call. She is (was) a training officer with many years on the street.
That said I firmly believe this was an error on her part and she bore no particular malice toward the decedent; who by the way would still be alive if he stopped resisting before an officer felt threatened enough to tase him.

She made a terrible mistake and should have been punished in civil court. She should never have been given a murder charge!

Even though it was accidental, she did the world a favor by taking his thug ass out. Too bad she has to suffer these consequences. It makes me wonder though how a school shooter in Texas walks right the hell out of jail, but she stays right there. Something is seriously wrong with our country.

Sounds like she mistakenly killed him with a handgun thinking it was a taser. I can believe that.

I also believe people who say they didn't see a stop sign and kill others mistakenly. They're still held responsible for their actions though, and so should she be.

In America, we don't lock people up for accidentally running a stop sign and killing someone, unless they turned out to be drunk, in which case, we'll throw the book at them. This is exactly WHY people shouldn't drive drunk....if there's an accident, even if not remotely related to someone being drunk, that driver will be crucified.

According to the news here, had she shot him intentionally it would have been justified to protect the other officer.

Just this week a black officer investigating a squatter at an vacant apartment kicked down the door, drew his gun and shot a white female killing her instantly. No mention of any weapons in the room. It's all on multiple body cams. Will be interesting to see if he is treated the same. Magic 8 Ball says, NOT LIKELY.

That's what I was thinking. She shouldn't have said she made a mistake drawing her gun instead of a taser. In the heat of the moment, instincts take over.

Bad analogy. A criminal created a situation where an officer had to take immediate action to help a fellow officer under attack. I don't see where it matters if it was a taser or a gun.

What I get sick and tired of hearing is "He only ___________________. He didn't deserve to die for it". Dumbasses, that is a decision HE made. He CHOSE to risk death by trying to get away.

These criminals know the story, they see the news, they know what the protests and bullshit is all about. If they TRULY fear for their lives, they would do the OPPOSITE of what they do. They would be in FULL compliance so as to not even risk getting their shirt wrinkled. They CHOOSE to be defiant and try to run. They CHOSE death, if that is how it ends up.

She may have violated policy, protocol and law, BUT she took a criminal off the street. She took one for the team.
