Default Wife's 01 Ford Focus....twin cam....
Any of you know about the fans/compressor circuits??

cooling fans not on high, even when a/c called for.....best I can get is them to turn on lo speed......comp will not turn on either....will if I jumper it out....BUT...there is no cooling, no pressure change on the suck side....yes between on/off of comp engaged and running....tried to charge it...no go, no change and no gas going in either.....

wife needs HVAC on this POS....damnit.....

Agree, not as simple today as changing fuse. Did ya check pressure? Just cause ya can’t add doesn’t mean system sucked

Yeh, of course, gauge stayed stable, almost no change running or not, attempted charge or not....30-35 psi, which is LO as hell for a a/c system, so when I saw that, charge it, but it no take charge....even when I jump the clutch to close with a jumper to battery.....EVERY STRANGE....

Fans won't come on if compressor isn't running usually unless engine gets hot.
Sounds like you have gauges and have recharged ac before, what static pressure do you have?
I'd pull codes to see if any ac show up.

8pm and dark out now.....I not think of codes because car runs fine.....

engine temp gauge is normal, along with the IR gun on hoses.....but in order to get much change over the hose temps (i/o) I had to race it around the block thing is acting VERY strange....

Thing that get ME is the lack of pressure change when a/c comp is activated.....I can hear the familiar whirr sound same as in the 'normal' past.....

My buick compressor went and it just wouldn't build any pressure to speak of. Compressor would kick on fine just was shot. If yours isn't even turning on, there very well may be a sensor issue telling it not to turn on. Not familiar with that year /model setup though.
