I had a 2006 LeMans blue Z06 and loved it! I sold mine in 2014 with 29k miles for $36k. It's insane the prices on them now lol.

I wouldn't do it. Too many miles compared to your current trouble free ride. Find something newer even if you have to kick in 5-10K.

Vtvr my brother just bought this little gem, 06 with 27,000 miles for a pinch more than the one you are looking at, those wheels will cost ya 4 thousand dollars new if you’re into that kind of thing, Michelin pilot sport run flats with like 6K, paint looks brand new, also two owner

That price is decent, $35,000 for an 07 with those miles, in this market.

If the heads haven’t been done knock that down to about 32

The clutch is the one part that worried me. That’s a pretty involved job in these cars. However, it’s doable since I do have access to a lift.

My hang up is the model year difference versus what I currently have. Plus, it didn’t “feel” significantly faster than my car…and it disappointed me to be quite honest. However, with less weight, it was much more nimble…as expected.
Got to drop the rear end to do the clutch, other than that fairly straightforward.

And you’re going to want to have the heads done, peace of mind, my brother is using vengeance locally.

Hey PM me if you want me to broker a private party deal where you can save on sales tax (for instance if you want to trade with private party). I’m with a small dealership up in Gainesville

UD, I’m not set on making a move. This one had just come available close to home/work, and I’ve never driven one. Being it a favorite of mine I wanted to give it a shot. I didn’t fall in love with it. I felt the clutch had a very long throw…and likely well used with with 70k miles.

I was really hoping that by driving it it would rekindle my love for the vettes…but I walked away thankful that I didn’t act on impulse. I’m sure they are great cars…and I haven’t written them off. But it would take more than the one I drove to make me actually pull the trigger.

I hear ya, any pics of your SS? Friggen crazy market, I sold my 2017 1SS in 2018 with 4000 miles, for 32,000. You could drive down to Hardy Chevrolet and pay $36,000 for a brand new one, like I did the prior year.

Well if the situation arises in the future, just keep me in mind. If you were just going to exchange titles, they’ll tax you on the fair market value, which is probably say $30,000. Tax savings would be $2100

Just drop the rear end and it’s straightforward. There’s a reason is a $2-3K bill to change a clutch.

It’s one of those jobs that compounds every step you take. It’s a “while I’m in there” kind of job with an infinite amount of shit to replace/check. Kinda like the head replacement on the Z06’s. Cam job…might as well…you’re already 2 steps away from having the front cover plate off…

Was using up a clutch every other year in my C5 Z06. Third replacement I dropped a C6 clutch into it. It's designed for ~100hp more than I was supposed to be generating. Has held up well for nearly ten years now... Could be I've slowed down a bit though

While I love Corvettes, and had an '09 Z06, give the choices, I'd opt to keep the Camero. I had an '18 vert, but with the V6 and slushbox. The only thing I didn't like was the slushbox.

If I were looking for a Z06, I'd be looking for '09-'12, or a 427 vert.

Honestly, my 2008 Z06 got boring within a year or two after I bought it.

Same with my '09. Yes, it had stupid power at the time, but had the luxury car feel to it sometimes. My '01 vert was way more fun to drive, as was the '76 I had. Sure, the '76 was a POS in comparison, but it had way more character.
