They usually are not, it is believed all the rain has flooded their habitats Add to that mild winter.

Snakes are everywhere you have to be aware of your surroundings. People think they are just in the woods. NOPE just look at D.C. hundreds gather daily.

They have a highly venomous snake in Okinawa called the "Habu". It's a mean nasty sucker, and they DO hang out in the trees. Also, they are quite aggressive.

All snakes can climb trees. I've found small garden snakes climbing up the brick walls of the house.

I have killed probably a dozen copperheads in my yard over the years. I also killed one rattlesnake that was on my front porch.

I hate water moccasins. They do fall out of trees. Many years ago when I was a freshman in college, I had a small glass torn ski boat and was at the south end of the Ortega river in the McGirts Creek off shoot. Lots of trees hanging over and one of those ****ers fell into the boat. The chick I was with screamed, I screamed like a little bitch, then beat it with an oar and threw it over board.

While I'm sure that is true, a lot of snakes just don't hang out in the trees that much.
