Default So...who else made New Year's fitness pledges?

I never ever thought I'd have to do it again, as I was a gym rat for YEARS. Not extreme workouts, just very fit.

It's time to get that way again! Last time I really tried was 2 yrs ago, and I came down with pneumonia about 3 weeks into my workouts (my kiddo and I thought I might actually die, it was soooo scary) and then right after that I got food poisoning.

Hopefully this time I won't be derailed by other health issues.

So....who are the workout kings and queens here???

(zz4guy...you don't have to state king or queen. )

I did. One of my racing buddies was making this big deal about a pound of insulation he scraped out of his passenger interior. I know of 20 lbs I can save without scraping glue.

I'm just planning to quit smoking by the end of the month.

Four years ago, the doctor tried to give me pills for stress, basically. I rejected them and ate instead and also, unfortunately, quit going to the gym. Now I need to at least get fit again, if not lose weight. Although the two should go hand in hand.

Does that involve physical activity?

No resolutions, but I did get back to the gym last night after 2-3 months off.
Ran 3+ miles with no problem...so I was pleased with that.

Yea, they go hand in hand. Especially at our age. Sucks mightily don't it ? I hold a steady 195 but need to get to at least 180 and semi good cardio for summer racing. It just takes one small lapse of concentration to end up in the wall or sand trap.

I just reread what I wrote. It should have said meds for stress. I guess I need them today, too. LOL

I much prefer fit over not. It just feels better!

Coco and I are starting back on our eating healthy and No Drinking during the week program.

Both of us want to shed some unwanted poundage although I don't think she needs to. I know I do. I lost 70lbs 4 years ago and gained 25 of it back.

That's still a good % that you've kept off!

I gained 40 but netted a loss of 150. Not bad, eh?

No resolutions. But I do work out alittle bit. I am young but had High LDL last time I got a physical. So that has kept me pointed in the right direction.
