I have not accused you of anything. I must have mistaken your ignorance for trolling. My apologies.

If you think mortar joints are precisely 3/8” of an inch you have probably never laid block. And/or have limited experience with construction practices. Moot anyway because even in a perfect world where all mortar joints are 3/8”, the “mason working precisely” would build the wall to the plan dimensions…again, regardless of the CMU size and mortar joint size.
