When I was TDY in San Louis Obispo back in 2009-ish, I was the brigade commo officer for the 166th Aviation Brigade (rotary). We were training up a Nasty Guard unit to deploy to the shit hole middle east. Before leaving, our Brigade XO (carpet munching bull dyke with a mullet) told me and a couple other conservative officers that we weren't allowed off post with out battle buddies because it was a very, very liberal college town and she didn't want us to end up in the news and/or jail

I was born in '61, so my draft card ended right at the time Desert Storm started. I was registered from age 18. My biggest fear growing up in the '60's and early '70's was going to Vietnam, since it had been raging basically all of my life. God Bless our Veterans.

I am so glad I got to be part of the CI's and the Barn Raisings held in BG. Those were absolutely great times that I think will be very hard to repeat. Just a different world we live in today.
