Nice collection! Are you driving any speakers with the amp or AVRs?

Be careful with those Monster power conditioners, caps go bad with age and can wreak havoc on peripherals.

Old Kloss radio on the top right? Those things had great sound for their size.

More info on the 2 Marantz AVRs! I'm running the 8805 in the theater. Sound quality is killer compared to Anthem AVM60 and Emotiva XMC1 etc

That Denon CD player is really nice too.

If you ever want to sell there are lots of guys on Audiogon that will snap that gear up.
If you need any replacement parts look up SkyFi audio in NJ. Boutique pricey but he's a great resource for hard to find parts.
Bought 3 Parasound amps from him a few years back and they looked brand new.

"modded PRO-2006" Modded because of that chip? I herd the chip is a unique one and it also can be hooked to the ham radio.

Installed switch to use B&Ws on both.
Also in the picture another dead center is added. Forgot what that speaker is. Will look again when next to it.
Thanks for the leads on the parts. Thanks to these 2 server racks I am back in the stereo gig again! lol Got a Cambridge 88,730 & 740.

Optoelectronics OS-456. Oh, and a clipped diode or two.

https://www.monitoringpost.com/

For those who don't know, the PRO-2006 scanners came from the factory with the ability to receive analog cellular bands disabled. However, by opening up the case and clipping some diodes, the owner could restore full receive capability. Not only did this allow one to listen in on cellular phone calls, but with the right software you could actually decode the control channel and follow a conversation as it hopped from cell/frequency to cell/frequency.

Ah, the Good Old Days.

Those 602s are plenty sensitive at 90 dB but you'd be surprised at how much speakers can open up with a dedicated amp vs integrated or AVR.

I'd love to slap an old school Parasound and tube amp on them and do a back to back comparo.

I get together with a couple audio pals and do this type of stuff when time permits.

My friends rig with some of his Mc toys

My rig we used recently to compare speaker cables and 3 different amps

Killer deal! Sansui made some excellent gear back in the day.

I had a pair of their 6X9 car speakers (triax I think) and the SQ was outstanding for the time. ('84) No RCA inputs, just line level.

Drove them with a first gen HiFonics amp. Thing had 4 gauge leads with no outboard fuse. Think it was the Odin or Zeus model.

Incredible sound quality but it would dim the headlights even at moderate volumes. Well before the popularity of Class D and not very efficient

Those subs are insane though; I'm still rockin a little Seaton and a JTR (dual 18) subs in the theater.

Hope Wendel is doing well

...and then this happened yesterday!

I saw an ad for a house sale for tomorrow and saw a receiver that might be a collectors piece. I called and she said I was welcome to come out today and everything is a dollar. I enquired about the stereo equipment and she said it's a dollar. Turns out her brother died and she came out from Colorado (too Upstate NY) now a 3rd time to clean out this house over the past 20 years due to family dying. She said this is IT!!! I want it all gone and the house has been sold and everything you want is a dollar a piece.
I grabbed 2 pieces because I knew they were something. They are filthy, major cigarette smokers home and he had these hooked up by two garbage speakers hanging on the wall using antenna wire instead of speaker wire. I could tell by the movement of the dust/dirt this unit has not been turned on in over 20 years. This thing has got to be 50 pounds I actually looked to see how far I was parked away while walking to the car. lol I felt bad for her because looking around the house I thought that this receiver is probably the most valuable thing here and he probably loved just looking at it.
They are:
Pioneer Receiver SX-5580
Technics by Panasonic SL-1310
Adding a couple pics of other equipment I found you can check out.
