Default Best Egg Nog on the Planet - Bypass if you don't like Booze :)
Best Egg Nog On The Planet

If you don't like booze, just stop right here.

To make 1 Gallon:

2 quarts Half & Half
1 Dozen Eggs
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Cups Sugar
1 Cup Rum
1 Cup Brandy
1 Cup Bourbon

Beat eggs until lemon yellow (Blender).
Add sugar, vanilla, salt and about a pint of 1/2 & 1/2.
Blend well.
Pour into large container (gallon milk jug),
and blend in remaining ingredients.


Refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the flavors blend.
Shake well before serving!
Sprinkle with Nutmeg if desired.


Careful shaking the jug if it doesn't have a screw top.
If you have kids, mark the jug so it doesn't look like MILK!

I wouldn't be using any raw eggs any more! About 75% of them have salmonella bacteria!

Liquid "Egg Beaters" is purified somehow I think.

I've made it before and heated the mixture on the stove until it gets hot to kill the bugs, but you have to be careful and stir it constantly to avoid lumps, then chill. Turns out thick like commercial eggnog.
