That happens a lot. I think sometimes they do that so they can have a look at your car. But I think they could stay at least a car or two further, to be safer, if they want to drool.

If I see another Corvette or other nice car I will park my vette next to it as protection....sometimes my CRV but giving enough space for them also as a buffer to them.

And in keeping with the spirit of this thread, my wife just called me to say that she just got rear-ended. Again. Second time in about 10 months. Sigh.

Two hours. TWO HOURS after my wife called the police they finally showed up to do the police report. I literally had to flag them down as they drove by the business parking lot she and her rear-enderer is sitting in for the third or fourth time. They can't find a street address apparently. Apparently it did not dawn on my wife or boy wonder to actually, um, look for the police as they drove around aimlessly looking for 1602 E. 32nd St. In. F-ing. Credible.

Probably not. Down here they likely work as process servers for the Sheriff's department. No such address found......

At least the truck is parked where the drivers doors are away from each other.

We have a beater that my wife drives to work and I'll sometimes park it to provide protection for a nice car. Always give them lots of room.

Do this here and you are almost guaranteed, and IMO, deserve to get keyed.

Also I don't understand Corvette owners always backing into parking spaces. It's fine at the car show or get together, but at the grocery store? Personally I think that draws undue attention and draws the jerks that want to "teach you a lesson" . I get that Vette owners don't want to smack the low front end on a curb, but how hard is it really to avoid that?

Just park far away and get some exercise.

Regardless of which vehicle I'm driving, I always back in. It's much safer to pull out of a spot than inch out and hope some jackwad isn't using the parking lot as a freaking race track.

I do too, but the problem comes when someone is behind you. They don't understand and can't figure out that you are trying to back into a space.

Good points... one of my kids drives an Excursion and tells me the same thing. But I do think that when you do this in a Corvette or other conspicuous car you draw attention and increase the chance that JoeDonBillyBob will park 6" from your driver side door. I just try to park as far away from other cars as possible, never ever in more that one spot.

My dad calls the 'Mafia Parking.' After the hit you just hop in and drive off. No slowly backing out.
