There has been some real psycho hot rodding going on in Australia for this movie... now all the vehicles are in Africa for shooting...






















Apparently there are hundreds of vehicles for the film... not sure if they built this one... but I would not put it past them...

^^^ That thing looks a lot like an LM002 Lambo truck I got to take a close look at once- as if Mario and Luigi built it in their garage- cool, but not a big name car company effort/quality.

rivets, screws, square fab work, flat plate, and galvanized parts, etc.

In 1980 Lamborghini was far from a "big name car company". They were obscure, and their cars were extremely limited production. The company was perpetually on the verge of collapse and yet they still managed to build icons, desired by the rich, the famous and royalty.

There was no such thing as "dealer inventory". Basically, if you wanted one, you had to pay first, and wait a year for your car to be completed.

They may be rough, but that is part of the charm of the cars and IMO, they're well worth the price of admission.

This car, also a 1980 Series II "Lowbody", was used as the safety car for the 1980 Monaco Grand Prix.
