Default Galaxy Note to Launch With Super Bowl Ad; Walmart $50 Gift Card With Smartphone buy.

Galaxy Note to Launch With 90-Second Super Bowl Ad
Samsung said this week that it will run a 90-second commercial during Sunday's Super Bowl for the new phone/tablet Galaxy Note. The ad is the first Super Bowl commercial Samsung has ever aired.

Bobby Farrelly, who codirected "There's Something About Mary" and other hit movies, will direct the spot, which is the game's longest. It will air during the fourth quarter.

“During the past six months we’ve launched the Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus and now the Galaxy Note super phone in North America bringing unparalleled innovation to the marketplace,” Todd Pendleton, Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Telecommunications America, said as part of the announcement. “The Galaxy Note ushers in the era of truly personalized communications, allowing people to capture, share and create like never before.”

Purchase a smartphone at Walmart, get a $50 gift card
Walmart is running a promotion that will be effective from today to February 14, 2012. If you purchase any smartphone (except the iPhone) from Walmart on contract, Walmart will give you a $50 gift card.

Walmart carries smartphones on all four major U.S. carriers. Below you’ll find a list of some of the smartphones that are sold at Walmart. Be careful though. Most of these smartphones are powered by Android, so there’s a chance some of these phones won’t get further support such as Ice Cream Sandwich.
