Default Album teaser and update

27 hours in the studio over two days. Set up and rehearsal day one. Record base tracks day two - we got 7 songs in the can. Now we need to do a second session and do all the overdubs with all the guests. (We record live in a great big studio that can handle the large band - each element is separated. We go with a single singer for the initial sessions, then start replacing parts with guests.) We'll work through the summer and hope to have CD's in hand by Nov. 1st at the latest.

I'm telling you, these guys are world class pros. I've honestly never recorded with this level of player. They are a machine. Lot's of the tunes where figured out on the spot. Then, nailed. Probably three takes of each. In the video, I included an intro to White Christmas that we wrote. Then we turned it on it's ear and did it as a Memphis soul type feel. At the end is the base tracks for a different tune - Santa Claus Want's Some Lovin'. (vocals removed). - check out that groove. Them boys are bad ass!

I'll keep you guys posted. Lots more footage and we already have rough mixes of the songs. I can't release anything in full yet. Tons more work to do on the tracks.

It certainly has snowballed into a big deal around here. I was stunned by the quality of the performing and pure skill set these guys have. This work is as good as any major release. Hit google on some of those players. Lots of Wikipedia pages. The engineer who owns the studio has multiple Grammy Awards.

That is a super expensive bugger. They have at least 4 or 5 of them. The studio is full of vintage, high end recording gear. In fact, it's an analog studio. (still gets interfaced to digital - but the board and processing gear is all analog).

I wish it was mine. I'd sell it and buy a car.

Wondering if voice over would help or hurt? It's sort of cool just telling it's own story. I made it tedious on purpose.

I'm also hinting at the song but never putting it all together for the viewer. Parts of it. But not the whole song. The bed track is the actual recording but without the vocal.

Maybe the next one will have some narration....It's pretty easy for me to do since I have a mic and digital interface at my computer.

But WTF to say.....
