The cop does not know about the dash cam. The cop also could not determine fault without the evidence of the dash cam. But he did say that they do not determine fault. Probably leaving it up to the insurance companies. I did not mention the video to the cop because I did not know what the video was like, if even recorded.

Well, Hell, son, that totally changes my opinion of what happened. You had a red light swearing match, so the cop couldn't determine fault. Has the other company accepted liability? If not, and you are sure that tape exonerates you, you need to march that up to the PD and let the other driver's claim adjustor know you have a copy and are happy to make it available to him/her for viewing.

When I had an incident for the same thing, I showed the LEO my dashcam video and she wrote the woman that hit me a ticket on the spot. Always review and SAVE that video before the LEO's arrive. If you're at fault...DELETE.

I need a better dash cam. One that comes with instructions. One that I can replay the video right there. If this one can then I don't know how since it didn't come with a manual and I can't speak unknown symbols.

Car finally gets taken to the shop and it has to go through a sever thunderstorm with possible hail. Maybe it will get totaled and I will just get a new car.

Now for a couple weeks of no car.
