Much better to head to Vermont and ski Bear Mountain. 15 minutes to get to the bottom, all while in waist deep powder. And three lifts needed to get back to the top. No night skiing, but after a day of runs like that, you didn't need it.

Also, you forgot to add in the travel from your residence to the parking lot of the resort, then to the lodge, and finally to the slopes.

It's become a common vernacular in the last twenty years, grandpa, so I'm not surprised that you haven't heard it.

I skied in Pennsylvania 40 years ago. Had my own equipment, yada yada.
Not something that I was all in on.
I did meet a cute blonde from Brooklyn NY when skiing in the Poconos.
It was a short lived “romance” because I didn’t enjoy the trip from Baltimore to Brooklyn. GUD I believe it’s called. Although I retain the fond memory.

There was a ton of it. We drove up in a raging blizzard. They closed the highway we were on while we were on it. Wrecked cars lining the median. Only two lanes open on a four lane highway. We made it, but it was a white knuckle ride. So much fresh powder that I was worried about how I would find a ski if it popped off. We met up with friends and one of their parents had a condo near the resort so we all stayed there.
