HALPS! Why are Youtube videos all of the sudden not working on VB?

In the good old days (a couple of days ago), you could copy a Youtube link, and VB would automatically embed it here. Now? Nothing. What gives? Have I contracted a case of Gene-itis? Should I just give up now and post a link to my e-mail account?

Confirmed there was a problem with the embedding, and pretty sure it's fixed now.

I only copy/paste the video ID from the URL between generated quote marks then change the stuff in the brackets to YT. That has never not worked for me

The consequence of a relative link vs an absolute link.

After reading this thread last night, I too was unable to get a youtube video to automatically embed, just showed a blank post. Bill gave me a strong clue in noting the old [yt] tag to embed still worked. That method, and the automatic embedding both accomplish the exact same thing, and end up producing the same embed link in the html.
After getting the "blank post" result I turned to the debug console on my browser, and inspected that element. It noted "media blocked due to insecure iframe on a secure page".

This site's been https since 2017, and when I made that change, I went through all the media embedding definitions and changed anything that was http to https. Of course I understand having insecure content in an iframe on a secure site is a no-no.
Apparently, this particular youtube definition got overlooked, but until this week, it obviously hasn't been a problem. AFAIK, youtube serves content via https by default. Or at least did.
But in comparing the embed link in the auto embedder to the [yt] BB code, the difference I noticed was "://www.youtube.com/embed/videoID" and "https://www.youtube.com/embed/VideoID". All I had to do is add the https prefix to the AME definition, and the problem was solved.

Note I didn't write this particular definition, the youtube one was predefined in the embedder software, and it's been reliable enough I've had no need to look at it or ever tweak the regex. But yeah this is still something I should have noticed back in 2017, and certainly would have had this problem occurred back then (as I believe it should have). If YT essentially masked this problem the past 6 years by forcing https with no protocol specified, then it seems they very recently changed that? That's all I can guess as to why this just now became a problem.
