Default What SUV do you like?

Had a GMC Denali years ago, LOVED that vehicle. It preformed like a charm driving to CO in deep winter accumulation, and towed boat and flat bed toy trailer like a boss. Had the best heated seats and overall, no complaints only one recall that I took it in for and had it for >10 years.

Tried other mid sized SUV's but need the 3rd row again for moving grands around.

Have looked at Yukon Denali, Lincoln Navigator, Mercedes GL and Infiniti Qx80, Ford Explorer, Toyota Sequoya.

Would like some input on what larger SUV any of you have that you like and why.

We need:

1) Seating for 7-8

2) Towing capacity.

3) Holds resale value

4) high dependability/customer satisfaction

5) High child safety rating

You had a what Denali ?
I have a GMC Terrain Denali and we like it....might look at a GMC Acadia Denali next.
A Yukon would be way to big for us.

We're on our third Explorer Sport and love it. It meets all of the criteria you listed. The only real downside is there's not a lot of room for luggage or other stuff when the third row seat is up, but unless you go real big that's a common issue.

The interior is nice, but the exterior don't do it for me. Same for the sister SUV Navigator.

Love the interior, but the Navigator exterior is :gross:. The Aviator looks better (exterior) but lacking with the towing capacity we need.

Forgot to add, I did have an explorer once in the early 2000's, had tons of trouble with it, said I would never have one again.

Like my wife’s Grand Cherokee, really comfortable and I’m a big fan of the Hemi. Wish she would have gotten a white one. Not a bigot but the white on black looks nice and seems to stay cooler in the summer.

We will be getting in white, preferably with black wheels, my desired color combo.

I have a 2021 Tahoe Z71, best SUV i've ever owned. And now that it has IRS, GM eliminated the 8" riser in the back that accommodated the 3rd row. Now it all folds flat. I've had 4 of GM full size SUVs, back to a 99 Tahoe, GMC Yukon Denali, 2018 Tahoe, 2021 Tahoe, this is the best one.

3rd row
handles great
towing
great electronics
air suspension
MSRC
cameras everywhere
power
etc etc etc

I'm driving my wife's 2010 Buick Enclave and it has almost 200K on it with little issues over the years but I do change the oil every 5K and the transmission fluid every 60K. You'll hear timing chain issues and transmission issues but I feel it's from people that purchase them used with high mileage and no knowledge of their maintenance history. Their warranty was better than the Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia (60K) and we liked the look of the Buick better.

My wife now drives a Honda Pilot with 3rd row seating, gets MUCH better gas mileage than the Enclave gets... up to 27 on the highway.. both the Enclave and Honda are FWD models.

Not sure of towing on either that I mentioned.

Unfortunately that's not unique to GM. Is there a rule somewhere that says the front end of new vehicles must be fugly?

I've owned a bunch. Two Escalades, a Trailblazer, an Eddie Bauer Expedition, and three Tahoe.

The Caddy was my favorite, followed by the Tahoe, then the Ford and bringing up the rear the Trailblazer which was a bit of a POS.
