Default I was kinda bummed out thinking about how much I miss my Dad today
but then I got this.. to make it a bit better...









I was pointing at the smoke he had in his hand as Mom would not let him smoke so he always had to sneak.

She knew he still smoked, but told me once that if he had to sneak, at least he smoked less.

My dad died at 48 years from cancer 23 years ago. He smoked most of his life. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him.

Today is always a rough day for me.

It sure can be heartbreaking thinking about them and the good times.

Great pic of your Dad!

48 was way to young..

My Dad also loved to fish, here are a few from one of his Canada trips.

He use to love going up there somewhere almost every year with a few of his friends, they would fly into a remote lake somewhere that was not accessible by land.

Wish now I had made the trip with him..

This Walleye was his pride catch, and while not quite a record it was pretty close at the time, at 15 and 3/4 pounds, or 16 and 3/4 (I forget)

There's not a day goes by that I don't miss my dad. He was a great guy, and role model. He died of a massive coronary at 66, the night before the shuttle blew up on launch. A very bad week. RIP dad, you're in a far better place.

I miss my Dad everyday as well. I was lucky that he lived almost to his 90th Birthday.

My dad passed in 2002 at 78 from West Wile Virus, complicated by suffering from Parkinson's.

I guess I'm very lucky. I still have my old man with me in my late 50s. He's 92 and a half as he puts it.
Funny how you count the halfs as a kid and an old guy.

I also feel very fortunate to still have my mom and dad.

Dad was born in '39 and mom was born in '41.

They have their ailments but meds and diet keep it all in check.

My dad's pacemaker surgery was postponed. They are not fully convinced he needs it yet.

It will be in his service records (which you can request). Looks like he served a lot of time overseas. They will also include battles, awards, etc...interesting stuff. I found out a lot about an uncle that way.

Lost my Dad in Jan '99. He was one month shy of 61 and had a heart attack. Still think of him all the time. So many conversations I have missed with him through the years.
