On the real though, The Northern Mockingbird is protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, as are all native birds, and killing one, or even harming or harassing one can get you fined and even jailed.

If you put out feeders...you pretty much have to accept that you are welcoming ANY bird species to it. You cannot pick and choose which birds you feed..you feed all species or NO species.

You CAN however deter certain species by putting out food that is not suitable for that species. For example, you can put up hummingbird and finch feeders that the Mockingbirds will have no use for.

Maybe put up several feeders so the Mockingbirds cannot protect all of them from other birds (and shit).
