Damn! With the exception of breaking loose some bolts, putting struts on is fairly simple But torqueing to 300, screw it. I guess I will pay somebody to do it.
I don't know, maybe get a torque multiplier! |

This thread is like a warning against buying used cars because you never know what kind of hack some idiot pulled while attempting repair.
A friend of mine bought some Land Rover where the dealer that sold it to him had reused a stretch bolt holding on the crankshaft pulley. The bolt of course fell out since once it has been used one time cannot stretch into its proper torque setting again. Apparently reusing one-time-use stretch bolts is common. Including head bolts. Saves money. Why buy a new one when you can just screw over some future buyer. |
