Default Ug, I'm getting ill

Just looking at the CF, some one wanted to know where the number 1 plug wire spot was on the distributor. If you have to ask that question you should not be allowed to look at a Corvette much less own one. And the incorrect advise continues to be posted, just awful.

The only reason I go there is some good deals on parts, otherwise it Corvette's for babies.

Sorry for the rant!

The knowledge base is definitely thinning out over there now. Thankfully, there are still a few who are valued contributors, but so many have either died, been banned, abandoned the forum, or have just quit posting. The attrition has been impossible to not notice. More newbies coming aboard, some of whom have clearly not even read the owner's manual for their new toys.

Send me your address via email, and I'll get that canister on its way to you. I got back home this past Sunday.

Live well,

SJW

If people ask a question about something I know the answer to. I don't berate them or tell them they need to put their tools away. I answer the question. There are easy things that other people know how to do that I have ZERO ability to do. I hope if I ask a question, I get help, not assholes telling me what I should or shouldn't do. There was a first time a replaced plugs, there was a first time I installed a timing chain, there was a first time I did brakes and often, I learned by experience or by expensive mistakes. There was no internet, youtube, or forums. The electronic means of communication are a tool just like a wrench or a screwdriver.

Yea, your are right, help the new guy. I was just ranting about more incorrect advise on how to resolve a problem from members on the CF.

As I said elsewhere my personal favorite was the moron that advised a split window owner about headliners and to order a later C2 version from a vendor - EXACTLY the wrong thing to do. The 63 headliner is one-year-only and vastly different from later years.

The only case that I know of where I would suggest that is to replace a stock type 66 with a stock type 65. The original and replacements for 1966 coupes delaminate and sag badly on the 66s but the 65s are a one piece hardboard material that does not have that problem.

What I can't stand is a newbie's inability to write a coherent sentence. Especially when it is devoid of punctuation. I could not decipher Faulkner during high school or college literature class and I don't need to do it now.

When I see that crap, I ignore it and move on.
